Comprehensive Screening For SDOH Could Improve Quality Of Life & Clinical Outcomes Of Chronic Medical Conditions
Comprehensive screening for social determinants of health (SDOH) could improve the cumulative influences of those factors on the quality of life and the clinical outcomes of adults with chronic medical conditions, according to a recent study. The researchers concluded that SDOHs could be clustered into five distinct patterns of co-occurring factors.
Five distinct SDOH patterns were identified in the study:
Pattern 1: 31% had few barriers.
Pattern 2: 20% were unmarried.
Pattern 3: 17% were unemployed.
Pattern 4: 15% were both unmarried and unemployed.
