Primary Care Physicians Typically Spend 16.1 Minutes Of Each Vacation Day On EHR Tasks
Primary care physicians (PCPs) typically spend a median of 16.1 minutes in their electronic health record system (EHR) per day of paid time off (PTO), according to recent research. For these PCPs, a median of 39.0% of PTO days had at least some EHR use, and 19.0% experienced over 30 minutes per day.
Recommendations include implementing strategies to minimize EHR-related tasks during PTO and developing interventions to support disconnecting from work during PTO.
