Digital Interventions Could Ease Emotional Distress Among Adults With Congenital Heart Disease
Using a four-week tailored digital intervention focused on emotional regulation resulted in less emotional distress for those with congenital heart disease (CHD) than those who received usual CHD care, according to a clinical trial in Germany.
CHD is associated with emotional distress and poorer quality of life. Those who used the tailored intervention experienced broader psychosocial gains immediately following the intervention and at a follow-up assessment. Digital emotion regulation interventions may offer a scalable solution, the researchers concluded.
