20% Of Law Students Reported A Disability That Interferes With Daily Functioning

Among law students surveyed, one in five reported at least one disability or condition that affects daily functioning, such as anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), blindness, or traumatic brain injury. Of those law students reporting a disability, 83% reported at least one mental health disorder or developmental disability. Thirty-seven percent are living with a chronic health condition or a learning disability. Of the students with a disability, 12% have a physical disability, 5.2% a sensory disability. Autism was reported by 10%, and a learning disability was reported by 9.4%.
