Survey Of Japanese Consumers Shows Openness To Using Robot Caregivers
With people aged 65 and older accounting for 29.3% of the population in Japan in 2024, many of whom require long-term care, and with a shortage of 570,000 care workers projected by 2040, home-care robots could alleviate caregiver burden and support the independence of older adults.
A recent survey of older adults, family caregivers, facility care staff, and employees of 10 companies developing home care robots gathered 1,122 responses from potential users and 83 from developers.
