Nearly Half Of U.S. Adults Receiving Mental Health Outpatient Care Used Telehealth From 2021 To 2022

A recent analysis of 4,720 participants revealed nearly half of U.S. adults receiving mental health outpatient care in 2021 through 2022 received one or more telemental health visits, and one-fourth received only telemental health visits.

Data for 4,720 participants was examined. Researchers sought to examine the nationwide distribution of patient sociodemographic and clinical characteristics across three outpatient mental health care delivery models: telehealth, hybrid, and in-person.
