Nearly 70% Of Medicaid Beneficiaries Not Receiving Medications For Treatment Within 6 Months Of Opioid Use Disorder Diagnosis
Nearly 70% of Medicaid beneficiaries newly diagnosed with opioid use disorder (OUD) did not receive medications for treatment (MOUD) within six months of their diagnosis, according to the authors of a recent analysis. Among those who did receive medications, 59.9% started within the first week, 12.7% started within 31 to 90 days, and 9.2% started within 91 to 180 days.
