New York Announces $20 Million For Expanding Inpatient Psychiatric Capacity

The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) announced the availability of up to $20 million for expanding inpatient psychiatric capacity. The funding is part of an effort to ensure individuals with mental health needs can access inpatient psychiatric care.

To support the effort, OMH released a request for proposals (RFP MH253018) on January 6, 2026, for qualified health care organizations to provide high-quality, equitable, and accessible inpatient services.
