Young Adults With Autism At Higher Risk Of Cardiometabolic Conditions
People aged 12 to 65 with autism are at a 1.20 times higher risk of developing cardiometabolic conditions than those without autism, according a large cohort study from The Netherlands. The researchers stated that in cross-sectional studies of children, a higher risk of cardiometabolic conditions has been associated with autism. However, evidence for adults was limited.
