Youth With A History Of Out-Of-Home Placement Had Longer Stays For Emergency Department Visits For Mental Health Concerns

Youth with a history of out-of-home (OOH) placement who visited an emergency department for a mental health concern stayed an estimated 24% longer than youth without a history of OOH placement, according to a recent study. Use of physical or pharmacological restraints for agitation was more likely for youth with a history of OOH placement.
