Dementia Diagnosis Strongly Associated With Initial Use Of Nursing Home Care Among Dually Eligible Older Adults
Among dually eligible older adults initiating long-term services and supports (LTSS), a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia (ADRD) was strongly associated with initiating care in a nursing home rather than through home- and community-based services (HCBS), according to a cohort study published in the Journal of the Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association.
