New Dementia Diagnosis Rates Lower Among Older Adults Vaccinated Against Shingles
New diagnoses of dementia were lower among adults aged 70 and older who had been vaccinated against shingles (herpes zoster) compared to those who were not. Dementia incidence was 4.3% among those eligible for the herpes zoster vaccine and 5.3% among those who were not eligible for vaccination.
