Older Adults Willing To Travel More Than One Hour For Primary Care & Two Hours For Specialty Care

Older adults are willing to travel a median of 67.5 minutes for primary care, according to survey responses. They were willing to travel a median of 112.5 minutes for one-time diagnostic appointments, and a median of 127.5 minutes for specialty care.

The survey included 2,650 adults age 65 and older from a nationally representative internet panel for the Understanding America Study. The survey was conducted between April 23 and June 8, 2025. It asked about the current and maximum time the participants were willing to travel before they would delay or skip routine medical care . . .
