GuardDog Telehealth Settlement Bars Access To TEFCA, Carequality After Alleged Sale Of Patient Records
GuardDog Telehealth will no longer be permitted to access patient data through the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA) or Carequality interoperability frameworks following a settlement announced March 13, 2026. The settlement also requires GuardDog to delete all consumer health information obtained through those frameworks.
The settlement resolves a lawsuit filed January 13, 2026, by Epic Systems Corporation; OCHIN, Inc.; Reid Hospital & Health Care Services, Inc.; Trinity Health Corporation; and UMass Memorial Health Care, Inc.
