Indiana will carve out nursing home services beyond 100 days from its Medicaid managed long-term services and supports (LTSS) contracts starting July 1, 2027. Under the change, Medicaid beneficiaries with nursing home stays longer than 100 days will transition from managed care to fee-for-service Medicaid. The policy is part of House Bill 1277, signed into law on March 12, 2026, which modifies the PathWays for Aging managed care program and makes broader changes to the state Medicaid program.
