Medicare Advantage D-SNP Enrollment Among Beneficiaries With SMI Increased From 2.4% In 2029 To 17.2% In 2022

Among dually eligible beneficiaries with serious mental illness (SMI), enrollment in integrated dual-eligible special needs plans (D-SNPs) increased substantially from 2.4% to 17.2% between 2019 and 2022, according to a recent study. Over that same period, enrollment in traditional Medicare fell from 58.6% to 42.6%, while overall Medicare Advantage (MA) increased climbed from 41% to 57%.
