18.7% Of Americans Age 65 Or Older Worked At Least Part-Time In 2025

Nationwide, 18.7% of American adults age 65 or older were working at least part-time during 2025, about the same percentage as in 2023, at 19.1%, according to an analysis of federal data. The occupation with the highest percentage of workers age 65 and older was broadcast announcer/radio disc jockey, at 44% of that workforce. About 38.9% of legislators are age 65 or older. About 32.2% of agricultural managers for farms and ranches are age 65 or older. About 26.3% of clinical psychologists and 23.0% of other psychologists are age 65 or older . . .
