From January 2025 To April 2026, Up To 145,000 U.S.-Born Children Had A Parent Detained By ICE
From January 2025 to April 2026, an estimated 205,000 children had a parent detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and more than 145,000 of those children were U.S. citizens, according to a new analysis. Of the estimated 145,000 U.S. citizen children, about 36.5% are under age 6, 36.1% are between ages 6 and 12, and 27.4% are ages 13 to 17. Among these children, an estimated 22,000 were left without any parent in the home due to ICE detention.
