Applications Close July 15 For OPEN MINDS Smart Home Expo; Eight Organizations To Be Selected Nationwide
Gettysburg, PA (July 7, 2026)—OPEN MINDS is accepting final applications for remaining presenter slots at its 4th Annual OPEN MINDS Smart Home Expo, where eight selected organizations will each deliver a 30-minute demonstration of a smart home technology designed to help older adults and people with disabilities live more independently. The Expo runs on October 28, 2026, at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel as part of the 2026 OPEN MINDS Technology & Analytics Institute. Applications close Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
The 2026 Smart Home Expo is sponsored by ShiftAbility and heylo. ShiftAbility helps provider organizations implement smart living strategies through consulting, training, and technology partnerships, while heylo provides remote support and monitoring solutions that help organizations expand services while reducing reliance on in-person staffing.
Smart home technology has moved from convenience to infrastructure, extending independence for older adults and people with disabilities while easing the staffing pressure providers face every day. The Expo brings those technologies directly to the executives responsible for technology adoption and investment.
Selected organizations present directly to an audience of CEOs, COOs, and clinical leaders actively evaluating new technologies. It is one of the few national forums where a market-ready solution is shown directly to the executives who decide what their organizations buy, and only eight organizations are chosen.
Applications are reviewed by an advisory board based on:

- Accessibility for consumers
