In 2024, 19.3% of adults in the United States took prescription medication for their mental health, and 14.0% received counseling or therapy from a mental health professional during the previous 12 months, according to a recent report. Prescription medication use referred to medication taken for feelings of anxiety, depression, or other emotional, behavioral, or mental health concerns.
