OPEN MINDS Hosts Executive Roundtable On Building Crisis Response
Gettysburg, PA. (July 25, 2026)—OPEN MINDS will host an executive roundtable, Building A Crisis Response Ecosystem: The Connections Health Solutions Case Study, on July 27 at 1:00 p.m. ET. As health and human service executives look for opportunities to diversify services while addressing urgent community needs, many are evaluating crisis response programs as both a clinical and strategic investment. To do this well, crisis response needs intentional partnerships across health care, public safety, emergency response, and community systems.
The session will feature Tom Fuller, Chief of Staff and Director of Corporate Development at Connections Health Solutions and will examine how crisis stabilization centers operate most effectively when designed as part of a coordinated community crisis ecosystem. Drawing from Connections Health Solutions’ expansion into new markets, the session will also examine how early and sustained collaboration with community partners establishes the operational infrastructure, referral pathways, and trust necessary for successful crisis diversion.
“Health plans are always seeking lower-cost alternatives to emergency departments, inpatient care, and law enforcement interventions,” said Monica E. Oss, Chief Executive Officer of OPEN MINDS. “Provider organizations that can provide alternatives as part of a coordinated crisis care continuum will be able to land the contracts, expand referral networks, and strengthen ongoing care.”
Attendees will gain practical insights into how intentional partnerships improve operational outcomes such as emergency department diversion, first responder turnaround time, and referral reliability, as well as how aligned referral pathways support appropriate utilization of crisis stabilization services.
This executive roundtable is part of the ongoing OPEN MINDS series designed to provide senior leaders with practical, case-based strategies for operational excellence and sustainable growth.

About Connections Health Solutions
Arizona-based Connections is an immediate-access behavioral health crisis care provider organization with current locations in Arizona, Montana, Virginia, and Washington states—and locations coming in Oregon and Pennsylvania. Their model is tiered continuum of care that includes crisis calls over the telephone, mobile crisis teams (clinician-led or clinician-and-peer), and acute crisis facilities capable of handling involuntary, intoxicated, or highly agitated individuals. A distinguishing feature of the model is its emergency-room-like “no wrong door” policy, allowing law enforcement, emergency medical services (EMS), families, or individuals to drop off consumers at crisis centers without prior referral or eligibility screening.
