New Illinois Law Requires I/DD Congregate Care & Provider Organizations To Disclose Ownership By Asset Management Companies

A new Illinois law requires congregate care facilities and provider organizations serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) to disclose ownership by an asset management company or a pending sale to one. These types of provider organizations will be required to report ownership-related business and financial information to the Health Facilities and Services Review Board. The goal is to improve state oversight and transparency, and to avoid loss of service capacity in the event that a for-profit owner closes the organization.
