North Dakota Medicaid Adds Host Homes For Children With I/DD As New Waiver Service
North Dakota Medicaid added host homes as a new service under its Home and Community-Based Services Waiver for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and related conditions, effective June 1, 2026. The service provides temporary, family-style living arrangements for children with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) whose behavioral support needs create a crisis, health and safety concerns in the family home, or risk of out-of-home placement. The goal is to stabilize the child, support the family, and return the child to the family home.
