Indiana Sets Hard Price Ceiling For Large Non-Profit Hospital Systems
Indiana will impose commercial hospital price limits on large non-profit hospital systems beginning in 2029 under House Enrolled Act 1004. By June 30, 2029, affected systems must keep their aggregate average inpatient and outpatient hospital prices at or below statewide averages established by the Indiana Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Systems that fail to meet the requirement will forfeit their Indiana non-profit tax status for at least one year.
