North Carolina Medicaid Launches Reentry Services For Justice-Involved Youth At All Five Youth Development Centers

North Carolina is launching Medicaid reentry services for eligible justice-involved youth in all five of the state’s Youth Development Centers (YDCs). The services include health screenings, diagnostic services, and reentry care management, also called targeted case management, to help youth transition from incarceration back into their communities with connections to health care, behavioral health services, education, and social supports. Screening and diagnostic services began July 1, 2026, and reentry care management services will begin November 1, 2026.
