North Carolina Renews Contract With Somethings For Free Youth Peer Support Mental Health Program

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) renewed its statewide partnership with Somethings to provide free peer mental health support to youth and young adults ages 13 to 19 for another fiscal year. During the first two years, North Carolina youth exchanged more than 2.1 million messages with certified peer mentors across 97 of the state's 100 counties. NCDHHS evaluates the program based on engagement, clinical outcomes, and user satisfaction. Financial terms of the extension were not disclosed.
