Jail Admissions Decrease, While Length Of Stay Increased
People admitted to local jails spent an estimated average of 30.8 days in custody in 2024, up 25.2% from 24.6 days in 2015. During the same period, annual jail admissions declined by 25.6%, from 10.7 million to 7.9 million.
