18 Health Plans Score 5 Stars On NCQA’s 2026 Health Plan Ratings, Up From 11 In 2025

Eighteen health plans received a 5-star rating in the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) 2026 Health Plan Ratings, up 64% from 11 plans in 2025 and five plans in 2024. Another 53 plans received 4.5 stars. The 18 top-rated plans included five Medicare Advantage plans, nine commercial plans, and four Medicaid plans.

NCQA reviewed 1,749 plans for the 2026 ratings, including 575 Medicare Advantage plans, 559 commercial plans, 280 Medicaid plans, and 335 plans sold through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Health Insurance Exchanges. The ACA exchange plans were not assigned star ratings because . . .
