CMS Extends Medicare Meaningful Use 2013 Attestation Deadlines To March 31, 2014
On February 7, 2014, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) extended the deadline for eligible professionals to attest to meaningful use for the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program 2013 reporting year, from February 28, 2014 to March 31, 2014. CMS is also offering assistance to eligible hospitals that may have experienced difficulty attesting to meaningful use. Hospitals will be allowed to submit their 2013 data retroactively and avoid the 2015 payment adjustment.
