New York Attorney General Arrests Nursing Home Executives, Files Lawsuit Against Owners Alleging Pattern Of Neglect
On February 11, 2014, the New York Attorney General announced that executives and employees at Medford Multicare Center for Living, Inc. in Medford, New York had been arrested in connection with a patient death in 2012. One direct care employee licensed to administer treatment to ventilator-dependent residents was charged with criminal negligent homicide; four additional licensed employees were also charged for failing to respond to alarms indicating that the patient was in respiratory distress.
