Drug Testing Not Widespread
OPEN MINDS The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry News Only about 40% of companies have instituted substance abuse testing programs, according to a survey by the law firm Jackson, Lewis Schnitzler & , Krupman that was published in the August, 1989 issue of Business & Health. Of those companies that have taken action on workplace substance abuse, 53% were counseling the employee internally; 57% were requiring the employees to enroll in a rehabilitation program, 59% granted the worker a leave of absence; and 27% contacted law enforcement authorities . . .
