Nursing Facility Level Of Care (LOC) Guide For TennCare CHOICES And PACE

In September 2012, Tennessee's Bureau of TennCare released a guide detailing policies and procedures related to determining nursing facility level of care (LOC) by managed care entities serving TennCare CHOICES and PACE programs. The manual describes the change in policy for determining LOC implemented on July 1, 2012.

LOC determinations include either an assessment of certain functional needs—the need for assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs); an assessment of certain clinical needs; or both.
