Nearly Half Of Large Hospitals Could Buy New EHR Systems By 2016

By 2016, nearly half of hospitals with 200 or more beds are likely to purchase a new electronic health record (EHR) system based on industry interviews conducted by KLAS. Of those considering a new EHR purchase, 34% have already selected a vendor and 44% have a vendor preference.

The estimate was reported in “Acute Care EMR 2014: The Next Buying Wave” by Colin Buckley of KLAS. For the report, KLAS researchers interviewed 277 representatives of hospitals; the majority had at least 200 beds.
