Illinois Corrections Awards Addiction Treatment Services Contract To Community Education Centers
On December 29, 2013, the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) awarded an inmate addiction treatment contract valued at $16 million to Community Education Centers, Inc. (CEC). The five-year contract runs through December 28, 2018, followed by one five-year extension option. CEC is operating an in-prison modified therapeutic community for all 671 offenders at the IDOC’s Southwestern Correctional Center—Fully Dedicated Drug Treatment Prison & Reentry Program and a separate 150-bed methamphetamine program.
