Texas Children’s Hospital System Implementing Primary Care Pediatric Behavioral Health Symptom Checklist

Texas Children’s Hospital System is implementing a behavioral health symptom checklist for use by its 48 primary care pediatric clinics, 10 health centers, and two hospitals. During March 2014, the checklist was being piloted at one primary care pediatric clinic; it be rolled out gradually systemwide. The system is using the checklist as a screening tool for its Pediatric Primary Care Psychology Program, a hospital-community partnership that extends the hospital’s behavioral/mental health services to patients and families within their pediatrician’s clinic.
