New Mexico Children Youth & Families Department Implementing Initiatives To Improve Child Welfare Investigation

The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) is implementing a series of initiatives to improve child welfare investigations. The initiatives were directed by Governor Susana Martinez in three executive orders issued on April 3 and 4, 2014. The policy changes are in response to the death of a child following previous reports of abuse. The initiatives are as follows:
