Payers Jump On Board With Treatment Tech
Consumers are ahead of payers and professionals in their interest for new treatment technologies – particularly the convenience and improved outcomes those new technologies can offer (see For Tech-Enabled Consumer Health Education, Engagement = Success and Technology is Raising Consumer Expectations). Professionals seem to be more resistant to integrating new technology into treatment, and payers have been relatively slow in evaluating and approving tech-assisted treatment for payment.
But, it appears payers are starting down the path of endorsing tech-enabled treatment. That was my takeaway from the session, Treatment Technology Innovations: How Payers Are Using Technology In A Value Driven . . .
