Illinois Submits New Comprehensive Waiver For Medicaid Long Term Services & Supports

Illinois Medicaid is proposing to change how it provides long-term services and supports by replacing its fragmented system of nine long-term services and supports (LTSS) waivers with a comprehensive waiver. HFS plans to develop a comprehensive LTSS program for older adults and individuals with disabilities that will improve access, choice, and integration of services to individuals with a key focus on helping older adults and people with disabilities to achieve and maintain their highest level of independent functioning while living in the most community-integrated residential setting possible.
