On June 18, 2014, the Texas Office of Violent Sex Offender Management (OVSOM) released a request for proposals (RFP 537-15-135716) seeking a statewide contractor to provide community residential services for about 200 sex offenders under civil commitment. Proposals are due by September 9, 2014. The initial contract period is slated to start November 1, 2014 and run through August 31, 2019, followed by two additional two-year renewal periods through August 31, 2023.
