Bundled Payments For Care Improvement: Organizations And Episodes Approved For The Waiver Of 3-Day Hospital Stay Requirement For SNF Payment

On July 3, 2014, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released this list of organizations and episodes for care involved in the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement (BPCI) initiative  that  are eligible for a pilot waiver of the Medicare  three-day hospital stay requirement for covered skilled nursing facility benefits.   The organizations are participating in BPCI Model 2, which includes an acute care hospital stay plus post-acute care—The 48 bundles of care include inpatient services, physicians’ services, care by the post-acute provider, and related readmissions within 30 days . . .
