HRSA Awards $54.6 Million To 221 FQHCs To Expand Behavioral Health Services
On July 31, 2014, the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded $54.6 million in grants to 221 community health centers to allow the centers to establish or expand behavioral health services. The centers will each receive about $250,000. The funds can be used to hire new mental health professionals, add mental health and addiction disorder health services, or implement integrated models of primary care. The centers are located in 47 states and Puerto Rico; they provide services for more than 450,000 people.
