Congressional Budget Office Cost Estimate: H.R. 3230, Veterans’ Access To Care Through Choice, Accountability, And Transparency Act Of 2014
In July 2014, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) published its cost estimate for increased spending by the federal government if the Senate-passed bill, H.R. 3230, was implemented. H.R. 3230 would expand for two years the ability of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to pay for health care services provided to veterans, authorizing VA to hire additional staff and enter into long-term leases for certain major medical facilities, and expanding eligibility for certain educational benefits . . .
