The report was released by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the federal Department of Health and Human Services. The researchers analyzed data from the American Hospital Association, which surveyed 4,539 non-federal acute care hospitals located in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. The report describes trends in adoption of EHR systems among non-federal acute care hospitals based on the 2,836 survey responses.
