United Health Care Reports 6.2% Savings From Its Medical Home Programs
Between 2009 and 2012, UnitedHealthcare’s medical home programs in Arizona, Colorado, Ohio, and Rhode Island showed average third-year net savings of 6.2% of medical costs. The health insurer said this translated to a return on investment of 6 to 1. The programs served 40,000 members of UnitedHealthcare plans.
The outcomes were reported in “Advancing Primary Care Delivery" by researchers with the UnitedHealth Center for Health Reform & Modernization and Optum Labs.
