Texas Selects GEO Care Bid To Operate Terrell State Hospital

On October 20, 2014, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) announced a tentative contract award to GEO Care LLC (now known as Correct Care, LLC) to operate the state’s 316-bed Terrell State Hospital. The contract is anticipated to start on January 1, 2015. The HHSC Department of State Health Services (DSHS) released the request for proposals (RFP #537-5-0000135376) on June 11, 2014. Proposals were due by August 19, 2014. DSHS has not announced the names of other bidders. The DSHS originally sought a five-year contract. The contract value has not been released.
