Retail Clinic Quality Of Care For Common Conditions Superior To EDs & Urgent Care
The quality of care for three common conditions provided by the MinuteClinic chain of retail clinics was superior to care for the same conditions provided by emergency departments (ED)Â and ambulatory urgent care facilities. The comparison evaluated quality of care provided in each setting for patients with ear infections (otitis media), sore throat (pharyngitis), or urinary tract infections. The quality of care was measured by 14 metrics around prescribing practices and follow-up care.
