In this report released July 28, 2014 the Social Security Administration (SSA) Board of Trustees reported the financial strength of the federal old-age and survivors insurance and disability insurance (OASDI) trust funds. The trustees noted concerns that if current trends remain steady, the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) trust fund will be depleted by the last quarter of 2014. In 2013, the SSDI trust fund expenditures totaled $143.4 billion, with payments to beneficiaries at $140.1 billion.
