On December 8, 2014, the U.S. Department of Justice and the Department of Education released this document as part of a package to notify states that they must ensure that school-age youth with disabilities who are incarcerated in correctional facilities are provided with education services, and the education services provided must comply with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
