VA Health Care: Improvements Needed to Manage Higher-Than-Expected Demand for the Family Caregiver Program (GAO-15-245T)
The report was released by the Government Accountabilty Office (GAO). The report is the GAO’s testimony to Congress about the findings of an earlier GAO review released in September 2014 of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Family Caregiver Program. The GAO’s key finding is that demand for the Family Caregiver Program has been triple the VHA’s expectations. The VHA projected that by September 30, 2014, about 4,000 caregivers would be approved.
