Alabama, Colorado, Iowa, New York & Ohio To Expand Family Drug Courts
Court systems in Alabama, Colorado, Iowa, New York State, and Ohio are planning to expand the statewide reach of family drug courts (FDC) to improve outcomes for families involved with the child welfare system due to parental addiction disorders. FDCs bring together addiction treatment, mental health, and other social service agencies to meet the needs of the family as a whole, with the goal of increasing parental participation in treatment.
